A comparative study of heritage law in relation to cultural factors, in particular the issues facing modern communities living with ancient sites. The overall aim of the project is to answer these key reserach questions;
Does heritage protection law and UNESCO World Heritage Site status hinder a positive relationship between the modern community and the ancient site?
And how can effective relationships be built between archaeological sites/monuments in care and the modern community within these regulations/guidelines?
The Questions…asked during one to one interviews with members of the local community, heritage professionals and tourism groups were these;
